Easter

We has so much fun this Easter. Austin's Mom came in from California on Saturday and Tyler was so excited to pick her up from the airport. After we got home, the neighbors came over and we all colored Easter Eggs and had a BBQ with burgers and hot dogs. Austin had been working in the garage all day with a couple other friends that volunteered their help (thanks so much!), and they were able to do the electric, Yea, one more step done!

Then we went to the movie Horton Hears a Who, and this was my first time taking Tyler to a "big" movie. She loved it and enjoyed having all of us with her, but Grandma got to chase Kai up and down the movie stairs the entire time.... oh Kai, she is a handful. Thank goodness for Grandma's.

On Sunday we had a small Easter egg hunt at the neighbors house and a nice brunch, even though it was raining and we had to do the hunt inside, it was still fun.
So, overall we had a great weekend and we love having Grandma here to visit!

Update on Project

So, after long, hard hours from Austin and the contractor, the room/loft is pretty much ready for Austin to sheet rock and then I will paint hopefully next week, and carpet the first week in April. The contractor is done with his part, so now its up to Austin to do the finish work... still a lot left to do and the cost keeps adding up, as with any big add-on project. I know we will love it when its done and we are excited to get it completed. I posted some updated photos. The room to the right is just for storage and to the left there will be a door there to enter the playroom/loft. Any ideas on what color to paint? Some suggestions please... I will post another update probably after I paint in a week or two.

Day 1 & 2 of Construction Project!!

Ok, let me first explain that when we built our house, because of how the lot was, we had to build the house pretty tall.. so from the floor of our garage to the top of the garage is extremly tall with a lot of space and potential. So, ever since we moved in (3 years ago), Austin and I have had the idea to build a loft for a playroom/gameroom in this space we have in the garage. See most houses in Washington do not have basements due to the water levels, so we don't have storage space, or food storage etc... and we thought it would be a great idea to use this extra space in the garage and build a loft with space for storage. So, we hired a contractor and Austin is taking a couple days off work and together they are building this loft. We are so excited and can't hardly wait to have this nice big room for the girls to have all their toys and play and to have a family space to play games, and not to mention have some nice storage space!

I posted pic's from day 1 and 2 of the project and its looking pretty good. Its very hard to explain how this is being built unless you see the space, but the first part of it will be pretty tall (about 10 ft from floor to ceiling), then their has to be a few steps up to another level which will only be about 5'6 from floor to ceiling, because we have to go above the garage door. We will build a wall for 1/3 of the room to be dedicated just to storage and food storage/pantry. The space will be such a great addition to our house and Tyler can hardly wait for her "play room". I will keep you all updated with more pictures as we get further along. Yea!!
